Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

TAUGHT BY JUSTIN BRESSETTE

BJJ is a self-defense and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via Joint lock or Chokeholds.

Being developed by the Gracie Family during the 20th century to become the premier self defense Martial Art. This culminated with the first Ultimate Fighting Championship in 1993, where Royce Gracie dominated his opponents which included well trained and much larger martial artists from various backgrounds. This was the birth of MMA.

Our Kids BJJ classes are 1 hour long beginning with a tumbling warm-up, followed by a succession of techniques that flow together.

The last half-hour will be a focus on games that help develop their skills and athleticism.

We pride ourselves on meeting kids— and all students, where they are, and we adapt the classes to uphold a positive learning experience for all involved.

Through our classes students will learn life lessons such as personal responsibility, self confidence, and listening skills just to name a few.
